The Wisconsin Dells are a bit touristy, but also worthy of a 2 day stop if you are in this area. There is enough to do to keep everybody happy. On this trip, we only had one day. We had been here before but have never made our way out on to the water which is really the main attraction for the Dells. We decided that the best way to see the most in the least time was to take a ride in a 1200 horsepower jet boat. This turned out to be an awesome decision. Being a jet boat is devoid of propellers, it has the ability to turn and stop on a dime which made for a very exciting 50 MPH romp through the dells. We were soaked to the bone, but smiling from ear to ear.
While in the Dell’s we stayed at Devil’s Lake State Park We have been here before and really love it. The lake is gorgeous and it is not more than a few miles off the highway which is always good for those traveling across country. Get your reservation in advance. Devil’s Lake is a very popular spot to camp. We were lucky to get a walk up site, but this is rare. I would certainly suggest making a reservation if possible.
