We are enjoying our stay here at Zion National Park, but we are also thankful that we are only staying two days as opposed to the planned four. It is over 110 degree here. This morning we decided that the only hiking that we were going to do had to be done early in the morning before the sun go too torturous. We took a shuttle through Zion and up to the trail head. After about a mile of scenic hiking beside the Virgin River, the trail seemingly ends. I say seemingly because the trail actually continues for several miles in the river. That is right, we hiked in the river as deep as your waist in sections. The scenery made it all worth it. Red sandstone cliffs in all directions, waterfalls landing at our heads, and lush greenery surprised us at every turn. We had a great time here, but it is just to damn hot. The rest of our day was spent at our campground which thankfully had a fantastic pool.
